This design features artwork by the Dutch painter Isaac Israëls (1865–1934), who was associated with the Amsterdam Impressionism movement. It shows an elegant young woman lying on a divan or sofa. She is reading a book, perhaps a novel or some other work of fiction, since she appears to be utterly engrossed in what she's reading. The background and cushions are painted in various shades of brown, matching the color of her hair. The woman is relaxed and at peace.
