This image of the Helix nebula - also known as NGC 7293 - was taken by the Spitzer Space Telescope and the Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX). The Helix nebula is situated in the Aquarius constellation, 650 light years from Earth. It is a planetary nebula, which was formed from a star quite similar to Sun.
