Hilsa Shad Magnet
It is a member of the Gizzard Shad family and is native to Persian Gulf eastward to Myanmar, including western and eastern coasts of India. It is anadromous (lives in the sea and spawns in freshwater). It schools in coastal waters and ascends rivers for as much as 1200 km (746 miles). It feeds on plankton. It can reach a maximum length of 60cm (23.6 inches).
