[Hojo-roko] It is written in Taiheiki (The Record of the Great Peace) that three scales were used as a flag to commemorate Tokimasa HOJO's arrival at Benzaiten, Enoshima Island in the early Kamakura period (Kosaku ITO's "Japanese Crest") / About the three scales as the Hojo clan, according to "Taiheiki" (The Record of the Great Peace), the three scales of the Hojo clan were transformed from the scale of a dragon, and this crest seems to be a mysterious design like the Hishi-mon. ("Nihon Monshogaku" by Yorisuke NUMATA)

I bought four of these as Christmas presents fkr grandchildren (aged 9-13) who do a lot of baking, art work etc and who have pet rats and cats.. They would also be fine on an adult.
The quality was brilliant - it is hard wearing and looks great. The ties were way too long even for an adult and I will probably shorten them. The designs were very striking. The printing was fine.
