How to Work at Your Desk Classroom Anchor Chart

Help young learners build positive independant-work habits with this colourful How to Work at Your Desk anchor chart. Designed especially for kindergarten and early elementary classrooms, this visual resource gives children simple, easy-to-understand reminders for working safely, calmly, and productively at their desks. Students learn four important classroom expectations: Get Started — We Begin Our Work; Sit Properly — We Stay Seated; Sit Still — We Sit Calmly; and Stay Safe — We Keep Chairs Still. The wrap-up message, “We Sit Safely and Ready to Learn,” reinforces the connection between responsible desk behaviour and being prepared for learning. This product is part of the Nyla Classroom System™, a storybook-inspired collection of classroom resources that combines engaging character-based illustrations with practical teaching strategies. Each chart is designed to help young learners understand important classroom concepts through clear visual storytelling, consistent language, and kid-friendly examples—turning every lesson into another chapter in the classroom story. Perfect for kindergarten classrooms, beginning-of-year routines and procedures, classroom management lessons, independant work expectations, back-to-school displays, and early elementary learning spaces. Note: This product features illustrations that have been enhanced via the use of AI.
