This Anna's Hummingbird spent a lot of time this summer flitting around my backyard, sampling the nectar in my feeder and from my roses. It especially enjoyed zooming in and out of my photo range, and specialised in being out of focus! However, patience paid off, and here it is, poised against a blurred light green background and drinking from my bright read feeder with its white plastic blossoms. He's got most of his face in the feeder, and seems to peek out at us from his little dark eye, with its white eyebrow in the dark brownish-red mask of his head and throat. The dark wings, somewhat blurred, are straight out from the back, looking like one wing, and his small, grey-green body has a darker green back and spots of neon green along the sides. Looked great and was perfect for my Nana's 99th it arrived super quick so much quicker than sending the original from the other side of the world!
