Isola 2000 is a winter sports resort close to the municipality of Isola, on which it is based in the department of Alpes-Maritimes, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, in the Haut Pays niçois. It is located in the Mercantour Mountains, close to the Mercantour National Park and 2 miles from the Franco-Italian border, accessible by the Lombardy Pass. The inhabitants of the station are called the Isolans. Isola 2000 is called because of its average altitude of about 2,000 meters.
