Though he is generally renowned for his vibrant use of colour, Thirty is a black and white painting emphasising the artist’s wonderfully playful shapes. Careful examination will reveal subtle nods to previous Kandinsky compositions as well as some shapes and patterns that would make their way into future paintings completed by the artist.
