Lady by the Seashore (by Pierre-Auguste Renoir) Stone Coaster

This design features a painting by the French Impressionist artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841–1919). It depicts an attractive young woman seated on a wicker chair. She is wearing an elegant dress and bonnet. In the background can be seen a beach and cliffs on the seashore. This artwork was painted in the summer of 1883, when Renoir spent about a month in St. Peter Port, the capital of Guernsey; he greatly admired the rocks, cliffs and stunning view of Moulin Huet Bay in St. Martin, so he immediately began painting outdoors to capture light and atmosphere of the local scenery, later finishing the work in his Paris studio.
