Maxfield Parrish Daybreak Tile

"Daybreak" Maxfield Parrish, 1922,, shows a dreamy scene of a young woman lying between two columns with a lapis blue background landscape. Standing over her is a mysterious androgynous spirit. This vintage print was one of the most popular of its time. Commissioned by the art publishing firm, House of Art, in August of 1920 "Daybreak" Parrish's first work commissioned solely for the purpose of reproduction as a colour lithographic print was distributed as an art print beginning in 1922. In the 1920's Maxfield Parrish's prints were in one fourth of all American households. Maxfield Parrish was one of America's best known painters in the early twentieth century.

Really nice image fixed to the tiles in my shower as a background to a soap dish. This was to hide the marks left by a broken soap dish. Just used tile adhesive and white grout. I think it looks good, almost like the drips are falling from the soap dish. No probs. Nice image.
