Vice-President Teddy Roosevelt took leave to go drag the Rough Riders up San Juan Hill, except that it was really Santiago Hill, and the famous Tenth Cavalry "Buffalo Soldiers" captained by Black Jack Pershing, later Commander of the American Expeditionary force in World War One distinguished themselves there too. Small world, isn't it?
