Caballos Mesteños Card

Caballos Mesteños - Mustangs. Sturdy, strong, smaller than the average riding horse. These magnificent horses were brought into North America, specifically New Mexico, by the Spanish Conquistadors. Soon native peoples acquired them, an event which changed many Indian nations into horse societies. American Indians revere horses for their strength, stamina, speed, and beauty. These magnificent animals are still found in New Mexico and throughout the west. Individuals and groups strive to preserve Spanish Mustangs, these descendants of the horses which brought the first Europeans into North America and subsequently mobility to indigenous peoples.
