Monkey Before a Skeleton (by Gabriel von Max) Magnet
This design features a painting by Gabriel Cornelius Ritter von Max (1840–1915), who was a Prague-born Austrian painter. It shows a monkey facing a skeleton against the backdrop of a darkened interior. The symbolic motif of the monkey can be found in a number of Max's other late works. The original painting was completed in 1900, and its German title is "Affe vor Skelett".
