Mountain Laurel Flowers Magnet

One of the more unique flowers found in the shade of forests during the heat of summer, the Mountain Laurel grows as a hardy bush or tree, native to eastern North America. It is often found along hiking trails in the Appalachian Mountains and further north. It can be as toxic as it is beautiful, but was used medicinally by native tribes, and its wood is excellent for carving and crafts. It is also the state flower of both Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
