Mouse pad seascape with Cape Blanco Lighthouse

This Mouse pad has an image of Cape Blanco lighthouse in Oregon. The scene is from an oil painting in my series Lighthouses of America. The reason I painted these beautiful and unusual structures is that I believe they deserve to be immortalised trough the arts. But a lighthouse scene is not complete without the endless ocean and its powerful waves. To give a good view of the water, I often place the building on a rocky shoreline with is a view of the sea. I believe that the success of a seascape depends more on the right composition then the correctness of the actual area.
