In my art, the rare snowflakes of New Mexico breathe life into the desert—each flake a fleeting messenger of purity, renewal, and spiritual harmony. Embedded in Pueblo visual traditions, like the “snow blankets” on textiles, which were prayers for snow and rain. These motifs echo ancestral rituals of rebirth in the arid Southwest. My pieces honour this heritage while capturing the sacred stillness that snow brings to the high deserts and mesas of this beautiful land.
