Orca, Mediaeval Bestiary Art Notebook

Orca, Mediaeval Bestiary Art Notebook Off a kelp coast, a black and white Orca leaps from the cold water in a burst of spray, tall green kelp swaying beside it. Its bold markings stand out sharply against the waves. The scholar's entry calls it majestic, intelligent, and strong, and says its striking black and white markings inspire awe in all who sail the seas. That striking power of the cold northern sea shapes the whole design. A large gold drop cap on a patterned blue panel opens the name ORCA, with a red subtitle, of the Kelp Coast, set beneath it over a small black ornament. A short scholar's entry in old style lettering fills the left column, and a framed window on the right shows the Orca breaching from splashing water beside tall kelp. A small brown ink sketch of a leaping orca beside a quill marks the lower left corner. Bold black, sea white, and kelp green fill a warm parchment tone page with burnt looking edges, framed by blue and red acanthus scrolls, red and gold blossoms, four perched songbirds, and thin gold rails. • Black and white Orca breaching off a kelp coast • Gold drop cap O, red subtitle of the Kelp Coast, and a short scholar's lore entry • Black, white, and kelp green on a parchment tone page with a blue and red floral border • Part of the Mediaeval Bestiary Notebook Collection from Wild Realms
