Original Hazel Hawkins Hospital, Hollister, CA Postcard

Thomas Hawkins, one of the founders of Hollister, CA, established Hazel Hawkins Hospital in memory of his young granddaughter who died from appendicitis. The family had to take her to another town for help because there were no medical facilities in Hollister. The original hospital was constructed in 1907 and in service until 1962, when a new facility was completed outside of town.
