Do you remember this map of France des fleuves that adorned the walls of our schools? This information visualization process has initiated the careers of many infographers and cartographers. But we often had the greatest difficulty remembering the course of rivers and the names of their tributaries. Probably because it was a map, not a plan. A map must be accurate. A plan must be talking. So this idea of turning the map of rivers into a map, inspired by the graphic approach of subway maps, popularized by Harry Beck in the 1930's. And play with shapes and colors to make reading easier.
