Postcard: Two Pastry Cooks - Maxfield Parrish Postcard

"Two Pastry Cooks: Blue Hose and Yellow Hose," was made by the American Artist Maxfield Parrish in 1921. It's an oil on paper laid down on panel. Parrish's paintings are a combination of fantasy landscapes and fairy tales, with saturated colour and luminosity. He would apply bright layers of thin oil paint, alternating with varnish over stretched paper to get the luminous effects he was known for. He would often build depth by cutting out images and adding them to his paper, coating them with layers of glaze.

We’ve had so many compliments on the cards as they are simply beautiful & a stunning thank you reminder of our Wedding Day for our guests. Perfect, just perfect. I didn't go for a gloss finish & the cards were just beautiful in matt as the finish of the card itself made the overall appearance high quality without the need for it to be glossed
