Prickly Pear Cactus Fruits And Red Sky Square Paper Coaster

Prickly pear cactus or opuntia may not look like the most decorative plant in the world. With its large, thick, rounded leaves containing fixed scary spines it isn’t inviting anybody to play around the trunk. The fruit though, known as tuna really looks lovely when coloured in red, wine-red, green, or red-orange. I love this cactus the way I love the regions where it grows, hot countries must see touristic destinations with exotic landscapes. And sometimes, when the fruits are grown in clusters and almost cover the scary spines, when their colour is intensely orange or red they look absolutely beautiful. This shot has been taken in such a moment when the sky looks dramatic making a perfect natural canvas for the cactus composition.
