Raven mug
It is widely believed that it was Charles II who ordered that the ravens within the Tower of London be protected lest the kingdom be placed at risk. Charles being firmly convinced that the tower would crumble and the monarchy fall should the ravens ever fully depart the tower area. Since that time the tower ravens have indeed been protected but the second world war saw the tower reduced to only one remaining raven. This caused Winston Churchill to request that a minimum of six ravens reside in the tower at all times. Since then a total of seven ravens are kept on site with the seventh being a spare should it ever be needed. Although the background to this Raven legend is hazy it is a superstition that persists today.

I loved designing this mug using images stored on Zazzle. Was able to choose the font for the name and uplaod a background for behind the name, and a fabulous image of a black and white horse. It came out beautifully well and I was well pleased.

An attractive good quality item. The recipient is delighted with it, liked the humorous caption and has put it into use straight away. Very clear design and print with good colour quality.
