Reeves Pheasant Tail

Molted feather from a companion bird, raised from an egg. Collected, washed in protective soap and laid out by hand to dry in a breezeless room. I photograph the plume with a Nikor macro lens and massaged it in PhotoShop to show all its natural perfection. From Lewis Mark Grimes "Feather Rishi Collection."

Using molted feathers is a brilliant idea because it conserves avian wildlife while recycling. The time has come to protect birds from extinction and I am doing my part as designer behind BeFeathered. The pattern you see here is a blanket designed with the Reeves feather. Looked great and was perfect for my Nana's 99th it arrived super quick so much quicker than sending the original from the other side of the world! My Nan loved my artwork too and the picture of us inside helped her remember who I was as she has Alzheimer's. Crisp and clear. Bright and colorful true to the original artwork I created. The photo we placed inside also looked great and clear.
