Saint Bernard's dream Postcard

Saint Bernard's Dream (1823)by Joseph von Fuhrich Catholic painting by Joseph von Führich. Führich was an Austrian painter and one of the Nazarenes. The Nazarenes were an early Jewish Christian sect in first-century Judaism. The first use of the term is found in the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 24:5) of the New Testament, where Paul the Apostle is accused of being a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes. The Nazarenes were a group of German artists founded in 1809. Their aim was to regenerate German painting by returning to the purity of the early Renaissance.
