Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system or, in layman's language - the brain. Our scientific understanding of the brain and how it works and how it fails to is comparable to medical science in the middle ages. The pharmaceutical companies are making a whole lot of money from developing expensive drugs that claim to reduce the number of attacks we might have. That doesn't leave a lot of incentive for them to develop a cure, which is why it is so important that we make donations to organisations like the MS Society so privately funded research has a better chance of finding that cure we all hope for.
