Scituate Lighthouse, in Massachusetts, has a deep history. During the War of 1812, Abigail and Rebecca Bates, daughters of the lighthouse keeper at the time, fended off an invasion from a British Naval barge by hiding behind some thick cedar trees by taking a fife and drum to emulate an entire American regiment. It worked! The British retreated, and the town of Scituate was saved. You can find this famous Scituate lighthouse on this mousepad here.
