Shiny Tuba Slanted Perspective Brass Band Glass Coaster

Shiny Tuba Slanted Perspective Brass Band Glass Coaster

Oompah, oompah! The tuba is the largest and deepest pitched of the wind instruments. It also falls into the category of brass instrument and aerophone. This one was part of a marching band from Montreal, visiting Gatineau, Quebec. If you look at the reflections in the flaring bell of the tuba, you can see some abstracted forms of people, trees and the Portuguese church itself, looking a little wonky. A person who plays the tuba is a tubaist or tubist in the United States, and in the UK he or she is a tuba player if in an orchestra, and a bass player if in a marching band. This colourful music themed design is perfect for tuba players, tuba appreciators, musicians and music lovers, fans of big band, marching bands, brass bands, swing, jazz, funk and German Oktoberfest music! The bass tuba and tenor tuba were patented in Prussia (now Germany) in 1835 and 1838 respectively, so it's no surprise the tuba shows up in traditional German music. However this marching band was Portuguese, affiliated with a Catholic procession around a few blocks and to the church. Some modern music groups use the tuba too, exploring new aspects to this awesome musical instrument. Photo by M Sylvia Chaume, Canada.

Very good quality. Well-made. I customised the item, and it came as I wanted. The image quality was very good. Colours were spot on. The only small issue is the background wasn't as white as shown in the picture, more slightly off-green, because of the glass material of the coaster. Still, I'm very happy with it.
