Snow Leopard Poster

The Snow Leopard is another endangered species that roams the rugged mountains of Central Asia and are perfectly adapted to the cold conditions. Despite its wide range it's believed there are less than 8,000 Snow Leopards left in the wild, this is mainly due to habitat loss, conflict with humans and poaching. Snow Leopards are generally solitary and highly elusive and their most active times are at dawn and dusk. The Snow Leopards range covers about 1,000 square kilometres. Females raise the cubs alone for about 18 months. The cats main diet includes sheep, ibex and argali which is a wild type of sheep which also live in the mountain areas of the Snow Leopards territory.
