Sons of Liberty Rebel Stripes Mug

Sons of Liberty Rebel Stripes Mug

The original flag of the Sons of Liberty was probably the first version of the American flag to bear red and white stripes. It was during their protest against tyranny that the decision was made to use stripes, and it was this design that the British soon referred to as “rebel stripes”. But when the Sons of Liberty adopted the flag called the "rebellious stripes flag" with nine uneven vertical stripes (five red and four white) it likely wasn't a polished, neatly sewn banner. More likely, the raucous rebels splattered red paint on sheets, and even on their own clothes. It is supposed that nine stripes represented the number of colonies that were to attend the Stamp Act Congress, but whatever it originally meant to the Liberty Boys and others, it's ended up as a quintessential symbol of resistance in that name of liberty since.

Deadly funny, HOT SURPRISE, great painting. Recommended for everyone with a "little" sense of humour :-). Colours are really good. Black in "freeze" mode is also fine :-)

When I first saw the mug it was just all black, and could not see the Zebra,s. When filled with a hot drink, wow, what a surprise to see it change colour, and to see the Zebra,s appear. So unusual. I would strongly recommend this product, if you are looking for something unusual.
