Spitfire Mouse Mat
This is my depiction of Mk1a Spitfires of 152(Hyderabad) Squadron, on patrol over Portland in late July 1940. They were based at RAF Warmwell during the Battle of Britain to give air defence over Portland Naval Base.
Flying K9894 UM-N is Sgt Denis Norman Robinson, UM-A is being flown by Sqn/Ldr Peter Kenneth Devitt with P/O Eric Simcox (Boy) Marrs in the distance flying UM-J “Old Faithful”.
Below them is Portland Bill, Chesil Beach, and Portland Harbour can be seen on the left of the painting.
