St Agnes from a hand coloured engraving by H Shaw Photo Print

Beautiful Image of St Agnes from an 1858c hand coloured engraving by Henry Shaw (1800 - 1873), after a painting by Lucas Van Leyden (1494 - 1533). Both fabulous and very talented authors of this work are credited at the bottom of the image. This stunning image is a lovely conversation starter suitable for the dining room, an alcove or end of hallway. Saint Agnes is the patron saint of chastity and children among others. She is always seen with a lamb as a symbol of her innocence and the palm branch in her hand is common with martyrs. This image was originally rescued from a book and since it measured only approx 9" in height. I scanned this image using a top quality industrial standard scanner and painstakingly restored and digitally corrected the image with over 100 hours of close-up colour correction and photo manipulation. This is from my own original Victorian Image collection and is suitable for large format prints
