Bonjou from Lulu, founded by Lucy Dorlus in 2017, is not your typical greeting card company. We create a way for people to express their feelings through greetings cards written in their native language. Growing up, Lucy loved receiving and giving greeting cards, particularly for Mother’s and Father’s Day because it was a way to express what she wanted to say to her parents. While the annual greeting cards she gave her father were easily read and understood, she had to translate the cards given to her mother because the cards were not in her native language, Creole. As Lucy got older, she would see greeting cards in Spanish for certain holidays and thought about the absence of greeting cards written in Creole… an entire culture was unable to express themselves and this is when she realized it would be a great idea to create greeting cards in her native language. This was the birth of Bonjou from Lulu.
