Melissa Allison-Lee, founder of HeartWings likes to think of the little pillow she designed as something much more than it appears to be. Melissa first began making the pillows several years ago as gifts for friends and family members who spent hours sitting at their computers or in their cars. But HeartWings is much more than just a therapeutic pillow. When Melissa was faced with a challenging time in her life and unexpectedly needed an income with which to support her child, she began to look at the many ways in which one of her pillows could benefit others. She had heard, repeatedly, how friends who had a pillow found comfort from them, just by holding them or sleeping with them. For years Melissa has been a strong believer in the power of positive thinking and in the healing abilities of love and forgiveness. With this in mind, Melissa began marketing HeartWings on a broader scale. Six different pillows were the result and they are now available for sale through this website and other retail outlets. The fabric for each pillow was carefully chosen to represent a cause and the healing energy that is put into each pillow sends friendship, support and love to the recipient. Most importantly, Melissa feels that the HeartWings pillows represent a movement of healing love that can spread throughout this world, one pillow at a time. We live in a challenging time. Not just in this country, but globally, making us even more conscious of the fact that we are all connected in this life we share. There is one constant, one true Universal desire that relates to every living being, the desire to be loved. If we allowed our minds to focus on love and communicating that to every corner of this Earth, the fundamental healing that would result would be nothing short of miraculous. The HeartWings pillow is a symbol of this possibility. A symbol of healing through unconditional love, forgiveness, hope, trust and possibility.
