About
I grew up immersed in math. My dad's friends were dubious. "Why are there logarithms on that poster? He's only two." They were right in one sense, of course. My dad taught me many things, but he left much more for me to discover, at my own pace. My walls were always covered with posters with all sorts of ideas, factoids, and figures, and I would stare right past them most of the time. But every now and then, I got curious, and asked, and my dad had as many things to tell me as I had the patience for.
I grew up. I didn't learn much calculus the first time my dad explained derivatives, when I was eight. Or the second time, when I was ten. But some ideas and sketches stuck, and when I was ready to learn any given thing, it felt so natural.
I've got kids of my own now, and I'm making for them what my dad made for me, and having a blast doing it.
This Zazzle page is just an afterthought. If you or someone you love has kids and you'd like to pique their curiosity about math, perhaps some of these will click.
