About

Sunday Colored Glasses is run by a recent college grad who has had very little luck on the job hunt (it's me, I had very little luck on the job hunt!) After one too many of those oh-so-wonderful rejection emails, I cried to my mom, as any self-respecting 22 year old does. She gave me the whole, "Everything happens for a reason! Something better will come along!" spiel, and I brushed it off as I went to go paint my worries away. But then I thought, "hey...maybe this could be a job. People do that, right?" And after an intense Googling session, I found out that people do indeed do this. SO. Here I am, selling my synesthesia-riddled artwork. I hope it strikes a cord with at least one of you. And for those who are wondering... Synesthesia is a weird thing. Brains in general are just weird things. No two are the same - like snowflakes, but a lot squishier. I have multiple types of synesthesia - some that interact with one another, and some that don't. To me, words have textures and colors and sounds and tastes. Words are my biggest source of inspiration. Other things, like music, numbers, certain names, and different sounds, have colors or textures. Different instruments (and the notes they play) draw lines down or through my body in varying directions. My days of the week all have colors. That's where the name of this store came from: Sundays are a lovely translucent red with a little bit of orange mixed in there, and I definitely see the world through these so-called "rose colored glasses". I could go on forever, but those are the basics, and this is where my art comes from.
