Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Key Ring
Introducing project “Military Insignia”, featuring top quality military heraldry designs. Here you will find designer apparel, accessories, custom postage and gifts decorated with emblem of the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) SDDC provides ocean terminal, commercial ocean liner service and traffic management services to deploy, sustain and redeploy U.S. forces on a global basis. The command is responsible for surface transportation and is the interface between DOD shippers and the commercial transportation carrier industry. This includes movement of DOD member household goods and privately owned vehicles. The command also provides transportation for troops and materiel (materials) to ports of departure in the U.S. and overseas and provides SPM (Single Port Manager) functions at ports worldwide in support of the surface movement of United States Department of Defence cargo, including military terminals at Sunny Point, North Carolina, and Concord, California. The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) traces its organisational lineage to the Army's former Office of the Chief of Transportation, established 31 July 1942. Fourteen years later, the Defence Department established a separate agency to carry out traffic management functions. On 1 May 1956, SDDCs original mandate began when the Secretary of Defence designated the Secretary of the Army as the single manager for military traffic within the United States. The insignia was originally approved for the Military Traffic Management and Terminal Service on 6 January 1969 and was redesignated for the Military Traffic Management Command on 10 December 1974. It was redesignated effective 1 January 2004 for the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, with the description updated and the symbolism revised. The green disc, representing the land, bridges the smaller wavy disc, representing the oceans; they refer to land transportation and ocean terminal service. The three annulets simulating wheels allude to motion. The white broad arrow over the discs provides direction; it stands for control of the movement of cargo and passengers, i.e., traffic management. The arrowhead and the colours green and white are taken from the shoulder sleeve insignia of the Command to indicate that the units are components of that organisation; the green is symbolic of the Command's "Can Do", "Go" attitude in the exercise of its traffic management, land transportation and terminal service responsibilities; the arrow also alludes to the military auspices of the organisation, the speed with which it accomplishes its mission and the air transport functions which it performs.

The product itself self is absolutely lovely and a smart finish. I'm so pleased with it and think the recipient will be very pleased too! The writing is small so not very clear but that's fine the picture is the main focus anyway and Is really good quality.
