TARGA FLORIO RACE ROUND CLOCK

First run in 1906, the Targa Florio was the oldest motor race in the world. The race was run in Sicily, on closed public roads that made up a 45 mile lap. The course ran through small towns, and crowds of people would stand right by the track to cheer the racers on. The race was stopped in 1977, due to safety concerns.
