The practitioner would pull the worm out slowly by winding it around a stick." - Rod of Asclepius - Wikipedia. Luckily, that's the winding worm of death, and this is just the winding worm. No relation whatsoever, nothing to fear, no skin infection worries here! Maybe I shouldn't of put this folklore spin in my description....
