The yellow trees mug

Mug created with the painting Jolie's yellow trees The golden shower trees that bloom in March in Kihei. The painting itself was inspired on an outing to do errands. I was actually headed to renew my car registration, and much to my surprise what I thought would be a mundane event turned out to be an awe inspiring experience. The trees behind the county buildings had come to life with vibrant colour and beauty so distracting the focus on my day switched from errands to art just like that. Shortly after I finished the painting my classmate gave birth to a baby girl Jolie. I figured since she was born in the spring and this was a spring painting it would be a suitable baby gift. And that's why the painting is forever referred to as Jolie's yellow trees.
