This photograph was snapped in the grounds of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. Did it refer to two of Edinburgh's venerable old churches, whose spires could be seen in the distance? Or could it have been political cynicism? This was September 18th 2014, on the day of the Referendum, when none of us knew yet if Scotland would emerge independant, after the days votes were counted.
