If you address them vertically (lined up to match the tombstone) the post office will not accept them without additional postage.

The design of these envelopes is really pretty, but I had several issues with the quality. About half of them had a strange line that looked like dried glue, one had noticeable folds or seams that seem to be a printing malfunction, and another envelope was actually stuck together so badly that I had to rip it to get my invitation inside. I’m disappointed, especially since I can’t return them due to needing to send out my invitations quickly.
