This is from my new book, “The Kid From 5th Street Creek”. It is from a collection of true stories about growing up in Laurel, Maryland. I returned from England to graduate from high school with my friends. This girl picked me up at my grandparent’s house everyday until I was able to buy my own car. She was a true friend! Every story in this book is true.
