Vincent Van Gogh - The Starry night Tile

The Starry Night (La Nuit étoilée), painted in 1889 in oil on canvas by Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Van Gogh based the composition partly on the view from his room at Saint-Rémy, but he reshaped the village, cypress and sky rather than recording them literally. The sweeping bands of blue, the bright moon and stars, and the flame-like cypress turn the landscape into an expressive nocturnal vision. The painting was made in daylight from memory and observation after Van Gogh had already become deeply interested in representing the night.

Really nice image fixed to the tiles in my shower as a background to a soap dish. This was to hide the marks left by a broken soap dish. Just used tile adhesive and white grout. I think it looks good, almost like the drips are falling from the soap dish. No probs. Nice image.
