Waterhouse Circe Invitations

Waterhouse Circe Invitations

John William Waterhouse Circe Offering the Cup to Odysseus invitations. Oil painting on canvas from 1891. English painter John Waterhouse’s Circe Offering the Cup to Odysseus depicts a classic scene from Homer’s Odyssey. The goddess Circe sits on a throne wearing a sheer robe offering a goblet full of potion to Odysseus. The ground is strewn with purple flowers and a mirror behind the goddess reveals the hesitant Odysseus in a purple robe. A great gift for fans of J.W. Waterhouse, Greek mythology, the Pre-Raphaelites, Ovid, and English Romantic painting.

I was struggling to match my witness card with the theme of our wedding. There wasn’t much choice for these cards, as I take they are not popular maybe?. But this didn’t not take away the quality of the card we chose in the end. The print was perfect and looks great. Just a shame there isn’t more too chose from.
