About This Design

William Turner - Bell Rock Lighthouse

William Turner - Bell Rock Lighthouse

Bell Rock Lighthouse, created by Joseph Mallord William Turner in 1819 in watercolour and gouache with scratching out on paper, shows Robert Stevenson’s lighthouse battered by a violent storm off the east coast of Scotland. Turner had never visited the site; Stevenson commissioned the image for his Account of the Bell Rock Lighthouse, and Turner based the scene on Stevenson’s description of a storm striking the lighthouse. The turbulent sea, crashing waves and dramatic sky showcase Turner’s mastery of marine atmosphere, light and movement.

I have purchased many of these now; whenever a friend has lost their 'doggie pal'. These are magnetic and can ideally be placed on the fridge door. Every single person has expressed the comfort this has brought. That for me makes this a perfect gift to help a friend through those very tough times. A lovely way to show that you care. it is a good quality product very happy with the printing.

I expect it to be a little bit a stronger magnet, love it either way. I like the printing
