Wrapping Tissue - Rainbow Madras Paper

There are many of you that won't be familiar with the term "madras" but it was all the rage during the 60's and maybe into the 70's. Madras fabrics, back then, were known for their fading and bleeding properties. In fact, part of the "fun" of owning any Madras clothing was to see how fast the colours would run or bleed or fade into one another or out altogether. Though many Madras fabrics were of fairly staid or conservative colours, the 60's were (to some degree) a time of colour explosion -- with hot pinks, neon oranges, "shocking" purples and day-glow greens "hitting the scene". Though these colours won't offer those same fading, Madras properties, this wonderful, computer-generated plaid is a nod to that "psychedelic" time and the fabric we were overjoyed to see fade and run. If you look closely at the design, you can see the slightest illusion of a ribbon-y texture, not unlike the original Madras fabrics. This delightful tissue paper is a beautiful, slightly "retro" addition to gift wrapping and is especially dramatic when paired with the matching gift bag also offered in this collection.
