Swiss sinologist Jean François Billeter describes wu wei as a "state of perfect knowledge of the reality of the situation, perfect efficaciousness and the realization of a perfect economy of energy." But if someone asks and you're in a hurry and you haven't got time for wordy explanations because, for instance, your bus has just arrived or it's your turn to parachute out of a plane, then you could just describe it as something like "effortless action" or "non-striving" before demonstrating both by casually getting on your bus or jumping out of your plane.
