This beautiful and beloved piyyut (hymn) has four stanzas, each beginning with one of the four letters of the name of G-d. Written (possibly) by Rabbi Elazar ben Moshe Azikri in the 16th century (though this is not definitive), it's focus is on an intense feeling of love and friendship with the Ribono shel Olam (Director of the Infinite).
The letters that are enlarged follow the Rabbi Berg siddur.
