Yokai Bake-zori (Ghost Sandal) Stone Coaster

This stone coaster features a cute, cartoon drawing of a one-eyed Bake-zori. The Bake-zori (化け草履, "ghost sandal") is a type of tsukumo-gami (付喪神, "artefact spirit") from Japanese folklore. When a straw sandal called a zōri reaches one hundred years in age, the sandal comes to life and runs around your house! Make sure you treat your possessions well! The monster's name, in Japanese kanji, appears in the top left.
