Gravitational Blueshift Coaster
A multi-coloured, fractal representation of gravitational blueshifting; the shifting of light towards the blue end of the spectrum that occurs as photons become more energetic when falling into a gravity well. Customise by adding your own text.
Unlike the more commonly known Doppler blueshift, an apparent effect which is the result of motion towards the observer, gravitational blueshift is real, independant of the received angle of the photon. Gravitational blueshift is a natural consequence of conservation of energy and mass-energy equivalence.

I was very surprised by the quality of these coasters they are beautifully crafted, and the sunflower watercolour image is so sharp it really pops out at you, I really love these and will order some more as a gift. The colours are so vibrant and the glossy tops make the image really stand out, they are stunning, a lovely way to brighten up dark wood or any surface. 6 coasters is also the perfect amount.
